The 'Jeopardy' Champs' Gameplan for Beating IBM's Supercomputer

We all know about the gameshow called Jeopardy. What people may not know is that the show is bringing back Ken Jennings- who holds the record for longest run of consecutive games won- and Brad Rutter- the largest money winner, with a $3.2 million purse. But they now have to face their biggest challenge yet- A supercomputer named Watson. Watson, made by IBM, has a processing speed of about 1 million books in three seconds. He's faster on the buzzer, so Jennings plans to bet more agressivly, and Rutter is gunning for more abstract catergories rather than fact-based ones that Watson could easily answer. Watson plans on gunning for the Daily Doubles to increase his score tremendously.

I think that the humans should have an advantage in this Jeopardy match. It's just because that we, as humans, have the advantage of being able to think outside the box, while Watson is confined to his. And we have much better names then Watson. No offense to any human Watsons. Just the computer Watson. I don't really like that name for a computer. Why not call it Bill, or Bob?

What do you guys think?

  1. Darren-I hate it! I'm glad they are bringing back Jennings but the computer thing is just awful.

    Real people only, Alex. :)

  2. Okay so this made me laugh. And I might have to watch Jeopardy for once in my life. I remember Ken. I don't remember the other guy. Putting them against the computer... is gonna be funny. I'm not sure why, but this kinda reminds me of the book "The Hunger Games." Pitting person against person.
